For the third consecutive year, Norwaste presented biogas statistics at Biogass Norge's annual conference.
Norwaste strengthens its team with a heavyweight in the waste management industry. Toralf brings 10 years of consulting experience and 30 years at BIR, focusing on service development, establishment of treatment facilities, and monitoring regulatory frameworks nationally and internationally.
India is facing a significant challenge in handling sewage sludge. Norwaste, in a Norad-funded project, has developed a sludge management strategy and evaluated treatment methods and value chains for sludge as part of a national project for the Ganges River.
In line with the rest of Indonesia, Bali has set up mini recycling stations, known as TPS3R, to handle the sorting of recyclable materials such as plastic, glass, and metal.
The transition to a circular economy is changing the transportation needs for waste and secondary raw materials. Are Norwegian municipalities prepared for this change?
The requirements for mapping and protection of biological factors apply in many areas to those who work with different types of waste. This course gives you insight into knowing what applies and what can be done.
Norwaste continues to grow, and with Amund Aalstad, we gain significant expertise in our field of packaging and circular economy.
On October 25th, Norwaste and the Port of Oslo invite you to a conference on coastal transport and circular value chains for waste – Does the circular economy change transportation needs?

In a time of rising costs, expect increased focus on municipal fees. With underlying cost growth and increased requirements for source sorting, the need for cost savings is significant.
Increased requirements for source sorting and post-treatment are changing transportation needs and value chains for waste streams. Norwaste is investigating the potential for collaboration between ports and waste holders to achieve cost-effective and climate-efficient logistics.
Norwaste and Hold Norway Clean, with funding from the Retailers' Environmental Fund, have produced the report "Prevention of littering around recycling points." The report offers various measures and advice aimed at assisting municipalities and waste management companies in reducing littering. Sirkel, Fretex, and Sandnes Municipality have also contributed to the project.
This autumn, Norwaste worked on several projects within operational optimization of collection. Norwaste has prepared an experience-based model to assess efficiency and resources used in waste collection. This has proven to be a useful model. Our review and analyses have led to very different proposals for changes. The proposals can lead to significant cost reductions or increase resources needed.
Norwaste has conducted eight introductory courses in waste and recycling since we started offering the course in 2021, receiving very positive feedback.
