Ida is 28 years old and has an exciting combination of education and work experience. She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in renewable energy from NMBU, with a focus on economics and energy markets. Additionally, she has extensive experience from the Norwegian Farmers’ Union, where she worked for a total of four years as a climate policy advisor. There, she focused particularly on biogas, climate benefits, and engagement with farmers, in addition to political advocacy.
Why did you choose Norwaste?
I wanted to work at Norwaste because it seemed like a place where I could contribute to important work in the circular economy in a very practical way. I am passionate about both climate and environmental issues and believe in the importance of proper resource and waste management to address these challenges. Additionally, I saw the opportunity to combine my experiences from both my education and my work in climate and agriculture.
What do you hope to achieve in Norwaste?
I hope to contribute to ensuring that more of the resources in circulation can be used in a useful way, thereby hopefully helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, increase access to renewable energy, and reduce littering. Given my background in agriculture, energy, and climate, I am naturally particularly interested in biogas, and I hope to help increase biogas production in Norway and ensure that more Norwegian livestock manure is used for biogas production.
More and more of our projects involve the intersection of biological waste, energy, and agriculture. Ida’s experience and expertise enable us to meet this demand even better. “We are very pleased to have her on the team,” says CEO Henrik Lystad.
