Course in odor - risk, cleaning and handling
Smells from different types of facilities can be a great burden for neighbors. Learn more about how to deal with odors and the risks surrounding this.

Odor and odor problems are unfortunately well known in the waste and recycling industry. Norwaste has in collaboration with Karina Ødegård from Sintef Norlab developed a course where we go into this problem. The course is based on a guide for odor emissions published by the Norwegian Environment Agency (TA-3019) and on the course we let the participants themselves provide input and issues. The purpose of the course is to provide an understanding of how to plan and work to deal with odor emissions, including odor purification, internal control system. Furthermore, it is a goal that the participants should be left with an understanding and a conceptual framework within odors and odor emissions that contributes to better communication with decision-makers, the population and neighbors. 

You will learn about what odor is and how to measure odor, about odor risk assessment and concepts in odor emissions and dispersion model calculations, identification of typical activities that give a high risk of odor emissions, how to clean odors, how to follow up odor emissions in internal control and risk communication related to odor emissions
