The Norwegian Environment Agency has entered into new framework agreements for consultancy services within the fields of circular economy and waste management. Norwaste, together with Norconsult, Stakeholder, and Bergfald Miljørådgivere, is among the selected service providers that will support the Norwegian Environment Agency over the coming years.
The agreement covers analyses, studies, and evidence-based knowledge development related to the design and implementation of policies and instruments within the waste and circular economy sectors. This includes, among other things, supporting the implementation of new EU legislation, assessing policy instruments, and developing knowledge that can contribute to achieving national objectives for resource efficiency, recycling, and the circular economy.
We are very pleased to have been awarded this trust by the Norwegian Environment Agency. This is a rapidly evolving field, with increasing demands for both analytical depth and practical insight into how regulations and policy instruments function in the market. We have worked closely with all our partners over many years and believe that, together, we form a highly capable and complementary team of experts. We look forward to supporting the Norwegian Environment Agency and further strengthening this collaboration through the framework agreement.
Henrik Lystad, CEO of Norwaste.
Strong Multidisciplinary Expertise
The framework agreement brings together four organisations with different, yet complementary, areas of expertise. Together, the team covers fields such as waste management and recycling, extended producer responsibility, the circular economy, socio-economic analysis, life cycle assessment, industrial transformation, and environmental regulation.
For Norwaste, the agreement represents recognition of the specialised expertise the company has developed in waste management, recycling, and the circular economy through projects for both public and private sector clients.
In its evaluation, the Norwegian Environment Agency highlighted, among other things, the team’s strong understanding of the assignment, its high level of collective expertise, and its solid understanding of how regulations and policy instruments operate in practice.
Growing Demand for Knowledge and Analysis
The waste management and circular economy sectors are evolving rapidly. New EU requirements, an increased focus on resource efficiency, and more ambitious environmental targets are driving a greater need than ever for analyses, studies, and expert assessments.
Through the framework agreement, Norwaste and its partners will contribute knowledge and insights that support the development of future regulations and policy instruments, helping to enable a more circular and resource-efficient economy.
The framework agreement has a duration of up to four years, with individual assignments to be awarded through mini-competitions based on the specific needs of the Norwegian Environment Agency.
